  Bio

Joey Zark, native of a small town in upstate New York, remained in that area until he completed high school.  From there, Zark enlisted in the Armed Forces, completed a four year term and after being honorably discharged, moved to southern California.  Other than a few years of trumpet at the grade school level, and being a serious audiophile through his military years, Zark did not have any other musical involvement.  While in southern California Zark decided to return to school.  He attended a community college for about two years, with his major being broadcast journalism.  This is when Zark states his music career began.  He found himself among musicians, although not playing an instrument himself.  The desire to play drums, a desire Zark has had since he can remember, but not yet acted on, got to the point where he had to do something about it.  Through, what Zark would consider, a “sequence of miracles”, found himself with a professional quality drum set and amateur abilities.  The years of desire converted to fast learning, hence, Zark became a proficient drummer at a very rapid rate.  Through the years, and a few relocations, Zark gained much experience in many , many styles of music. About the same time Zark began his career as a drummer, he began playing guitar to work on his singing and song composing abilities.  His  only intention  at the time with guitar was for the purpose of composing songs.  To date, Zark has composed and copyrighted well over five hundred songs and continues to compose new material on a regular basis.  Zark also composes material using the keyboard as a writing instrument.  When listening to the  Citizenz Records  release, “Zig Zag”, keep in mind , Zark self produced and performed the instruments on this CD.

After many years of drumming and performing in many different bands, and with many songs composed, Zark decided to focus on song publishing. After three years of  “heavy” worldwide pursuit, Zark secured three publishing contracts.  The first contract was after his first six months of pursuit.  “Good Time”, “Have You Forgotten?” and “Nothing Ventured, Nothing Gained” have been published.  Zark continued his pursuits in the publishing area of the entertainment industry for many years and still does at a  “light" level. Zark has turned his focus to touring, singer/songwriter.  Now, with two successful solo tours behind him, the “Wingin’ It” tour of 2003 and the  "ZIG ZAG Tour” of 2004, this brings us to the "Zarkz Landing World Tour”.  Now based in a small town in  “far west” Texas, Zark  continues to compose and record new material while keeping practiced with various musical instruments.  If you have any questions, or need more detailed information, please  email Zark at: Zark@AngelicPassages.com.
